The Maidstone Hotel consistently receives high praise for its excellent service, delicious food, and inviting atmosphere, particularly highlighted by staff members like William and Emma. While many guests enjoy the hotel's historic charm, beautiful grounds, and convenient location, some have experienced issues with noise levels and room quality, especially regarding pricing.
The Maidstone is absolutely perfect for a weekend getaway. The staff is amazing, the rooms are clean, beds comfy, and the free breakfast in the morning is the cherry on top! My mom and I loved our stay here. Thank you Maidstone for your hospitality, we will be back!!
We had a great one night reprieve from the city. I own a home nearby but it is having some work done. Felt like a vacation in my own town! The bar, restaurant and manager on duty were all lovely!
Perfect stay for the holiday season! We enjoyed cocktails in the evening and complimentary breakfast. It was perfect !
William, the general manager was above and beyond the best hotel manager we’ve dealt with in a long time. The staff, the dinner, the rooms, the breakfast all 10 out of 10 thank you.
What a fabulous experience. The Maidstone Inn was lovely!! From my upgraded room, to the breakfast/coffee service by the fireplace each morning. Dinner last nite at the Restaurant was one of the best of my life. No kidding! Don’t miss it….Fall in the Hamptons was a real treat, and on my bday coincidentally. Will, Troy & the whole staff made my stay restful, luxurious & I’ll be back w/family soon.
Really excellent! I attended a wedding there last night and it was superb. I’ve been to tons of weddings over the years but have never left a review for the venue but felt I needed to for this one. The grounds are beautiful and so serene, the staff were all excellent - warm, welcoming, helpful - Emma was on point and everyone was really good! I can’t get over the delicious food and the main room for the wedding was just gorgeous and intimate. The whole experience just felt perfectly done. I live and work in East Hampton + Sag Harbor and have been hearing the great reviews over the past year but hadn’t been able to make it there recently. I will definitely be back for dinners, I can’t wait to have the food there again. And anyone considering having an event there should absolutely go with it!
Amazing updated chic historic luxury inn. Incredible charm. Excellent restaurant and bar. Really great location...easily walkable to all of East Hampton. Perfect!
Good location, friendly staff. For our 2 day stay we paid $1,500 for a room (#6) August 2025, that had generators that went off several times during the night and woke us up. Our room also faced the back yard where they had dinner tables set up. Noisy until 10pm - if you wanted to get to bed early forget it. Breakfast was very basic, yogurt and bagels and a little fresh fruit. Definitely not worth the money- must be better places in East Hampton at this price.
Had a great stay on a quiet weekday night. The staff was super inviting. More or less exactly what you would expect for a hotel of this caliber. It felt like you were staying at a family members beautiful home. We really enjoyed it, a lot of charm due to the buildings classical age, the bar and bar staff were very nice. We had a few cocktails and really enjoyed our chat and sitting by the fireplace. The restaurant was also excellent. Great job to Julio and his team. We really enjoyed our meal and hope to come back.
I have stayed at the Maidstone 8 times during the off season from November of 2024 to April of 2025. While most of the staff is incredible, the hotel manager is absolutely atrocious. Incredibly rude, spoke down to my husband and I, not accommodating in the slightest. The rooms vary, some are much nicer than others but the standard rooms are not great. Multiple times there were empty pizza boxes and trash left in the rooms from the previous guests. I was completely alone in the hotel many times (I don’t even think someone was there overnight as there was just a sign at the front desk that said call if you need anything). Go for the great bartenders, but don’t stay here.
