The Maidstone Hotel consistently receives positive feedback for its charm, excellent restaurant, and friendly staff, particularly highlighted by mentions of William, the general manager, and Brian, the property manager. However, recent reviews indicate significant issues with inconsistent service levels, particularly regarding event planning and accommodation quality, with some guests experiencing noise and outdated rooms.
Diego and Rosario were amazing. What a wonderful staff. Finding great employees out east is never easy. Love to come by and say hello!
I’m leaving this review for LDV Hospitality and not the Maidstone itself. There is NO hospitality in LDV Hospitality. Last year I stayed at the Maidstone for my birthday and had a lovely dinner, enjoyed the ambiance, flowers and quaintness of the hotel. This year I thought why not make it tradition and invite a bunch of friends for dinner. We all planned to book our stay there as well. One month in advance I sent an email to reservations as we wanted to secure a table for 8-10 people with a pre fixe menu which is way better for a larger group and for this specific occasion. The first reservations person replies saying “Scarpetta” doesn’t do pre fixe. If you make reservations for multiple restaurants why would you assume Scarpetta. There was also no courtesy and they kept reply to emails without even saying my name no salutation, no ending. Very unprofessional. I then called the hotel directly about the pre fixe they confirmed that for 10 people it was possible and I should email events. Tricia at events was even worse. I have worked with many large and lovely luxury hotel brands across the USA, Europe, and Asia. I was shocked that the person in charge of events did not ask a single question about the occasion or what my needs were, only stated OVER 10 guests were required for a pre fixe menu and that I should “make a normal reservation”. This totally contradicts the info I was given over the phone as well. The Maidstone is a completely soured experience for me because of LDV Hospitality and I unfortunately will not be returning. The front desk and in house staff are very kind and accommodating both over the phone and in person, they tried their best to help by sending a reservation link for 8 people. This however didn’t meet our needs for 10 and we wanted to get down to the details, floral arrangements (as I recall the hotel has a lovely florals partner), menu, guest experience etc. Overall there is no consistency around the number of guests that constitute an event and NO real hospitality, no questions asked or attempt to accommodate! I have the paper trail for this all. Totally soured, totally unprofessional communication by LDV, it’s very sad!
Fabulous, cozy stay at LDV at the Maidstone. Comfortable, well-appointed rooms with lots of lovely touches. Enjoyed the best pasta outside of Italy for dinner. Brian, the property manager went out of his way to make our stay special.
Charming hotel with a restaurant that is open off season Thursday through Saturday. With excellent food, service & cocktails. Hotel Staff are no pressure, just ask if anything is needed and one is accommodated. 1. William, asst manager ?????????? 2. Brian. ?????????? 3. Different ego, bartender ??????????
The Maidstone is absolutely perfect for a weekend getaway. The staff is amazing, the rooms are clean, beds comfy, and the free breakfast in the morning is the cherry on top! My mom and I loved our stay here. Thank you Maidstone for your hospitality, we will be back!!
We had a great one night reprieve from the city. I own a home nearby but it is having some work done. Felt like a vacation in my own town! The bar, restaurant and manager on duty were all lovely!
Perfect stay for the holiday season! We enjoyed cocktails in the evening and complimentary breakfast. It was perfect !
William, the general manager was above and beyond the best hotel manager we’ve dealt with in a long time. The staff, the dinner, the rooms, the breakfast all 10 out of 10 thank you.
What a fabulous experience. The Maidstone Inn was lovely!! From my upgraded room, to the breakfast/coffee service by the fireplace each morning. Dinner last nite at the Restaurant was one of the best of my life. No kidding! Don’t miss it….Fall in the Hamptons was a real treat, and on my bday coincidentally. Will, Troy & the whole staff made my stay restful, luxurious & I’ll be back w/family soon.
Really excellent! I attended a wedding there last night and it was superb. I’ve been to tons of weddings over the years but have never left a review for the venue but felt I needed to for this one. The grounds are beautiful and so serene, the staff were all excellent - warm, welcoming, helpful - Emma was on point and everyone was really good! I can’t get over the delicious food and the main room for the wedding was just gorgeous and intimate. The whole experience just felt perfectly done. I live and work in East Hampton + Sag Harbor and have been hearing the great reviews over the past year but hadn’t been able to make it there recently. I will definitely be back for dinners, I can’t wait to have the food there again. And anyone considering having an event there should absolutely go with it!
