The Montauk Beach House receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its location, amenities, and staff, particularly Marta and Adrian. However, recent reviews highlight issues with staff morale at the end of the season, inconsistent service, and inconvenient limitations on bar and pool hours. Several guests found the accommodations average and felt that the hotel didn’t fully meet expectations for the price.
I don’t usually leave reviews but in the interest of being helpful to other potential guests - here’s what I honestly thought. We visited in the third week of September - weather was still good and rooms still fairly expensive, even for the area. Despite this, we were told repeatedly that it was the end of the season, as an excuse for all sorts of inconveniences and issues. This included things like, the coffee bar not being open (sounds petty - but there was nothing to make coffee with in the room, which feels like bare minimum for a hotel like this), ordering and paying for drinks at the bar, to then being told they didn’t have the ingredients. The staff who worked by the pool and in the coffee bar were absolutely lovely, but all the others you could tell were bored and keen to end for the season. I totally get that - but also, it’s kind of their job?! Anyway it all just felt a bit sloppy and lacklustre, like there was no point making an effort to keep service standards up - despite being still open and charging customers the usual rate to stay lol? Rooms were very average and despite being told the hotel was practically empty, we were put in a room facing away from the pool. Just feel like, in those circumstances you would try and give guests the best experience? Again just made us feel like we were a nuisance and they didn’t care. Anyway I hope this doesn’t make me sound like a Karen - but I wanted to be honest, as it was expensive and I wish I had known this before - I would have stayed somewhere else.
I love the Montauk Beach House and have stayed many times! The rooms are spacious, clean, and stylish. All bathroom toiletries are eco-friendly and fragrance free so are great for people like me who are allergic. The staff is super friendly and accommodating - If you have any issues, they make sure to resolve them quickly. Great food, drinks, location and people. Of course I will return!!
Really disappointing stay. For the price, I expected much better. There were no basics in the room bottled water, not even coffee or a kettle. On top of that, you couldn’t charge food or drinks to your room, which felt really inconvenient given the cost of staying here. Complimentary breakfast was not on offer due to “coffee machine being broken” then offered to walk to a coffee shop round the corner and get myself something. Overall, it was totally overpriced for what you get. Wouldn’t recommend. The location and bed is nice though!
The Montauk Beach house is truly a hidden gem. Well appointed rooms with a nice urban flair, perfect location, great amenities including fabulous poolside lunch options. The staff was super friendly and hard working. The bar has a great vibe and the proximity to the beach is unparalleled. This was our third time and we will definitely be back.
I want to especially thank Marta for all her help during our stay. She was beyond helpful and generous with her time. She gave us great recommendations and so much extra help as we tried to figure out where. to go. We were also so grateful for her help storing our luggage after we checked out. The Montauk BeachHouse let us continue to use the amenities even after we checked out and waited for our train. We had a lovely lunch and some pool time before leaving.
Great location. Bar and food staff were amazing. However the pool staff and pool manager, Nikita, ruined our stay. We complained about the rude towel staffer and the overly strict pool rules to the hotel manager and she was gracious, acknowledging our issue and offering a resolution. Upon overhearing our conversation, Nikita confronted us at the pool in front of staff and guests. Accused us of being discourteous. She needs training as she has no idea about guest relations and hospitality. Unfortunately, would never stay again nor would i recommend to others..
Beautiful place great location one block from the beach one block from the town with all the shops. The rooms were perfect. The grounds were beautiful. My only disappointment was we did overnight Wednesday to Thursday and the bar and restaurant closed at 6 o’clock and the pool closed at 7 o’clock. There was no one around.
Excellent experience. We stayed in a lovely room, that had a beautiful tub, and very comfortable and luxurious beds. We spent a whole day lounging by the pool, having cocktails and enjoyed our time a lot. I would love to stay here again.
From the moment we walked in, the service at Montauk beach house was absolutely outstanding. The staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing. Adrian our server and Nikita made us feel genuinely cared for, as if we were longtime regulars. Our server Adrian went above and beyond—offering thoughtful recommendations, checking in at just the right times, and making sure every detail of our meal was perfect. It’s rare to encounter such professional, friendly service that truly enhances the entire dining experience. The food was excellent as well, but it was the hospitality that really made the night memorable. We’ll definitely be returning—and recommending this place to everyone we know.
