The Southampton Inn receives generally positive feedback, particularly for events and its location. However, recent reviews highlight significant concerns regarding staff attitude, security, and noise levels, overshadowing some positive comments about room quality and amenities.
We stayed here for Valentine's Day weekend. During check-in, the staff gave us a nice gift bag. The room was very nice and spacious, and the hotel is close to everything. Looking forward to coming back here during the summer!
The staff were excellent and fully met all of the needs of everyone at the event I held there. I would highly recommend having any kind of event and staying over at the Southampton inn. If your traveling with your children they have adjoining rooms available as well.
We attended the Seamus Ward Leukemia Foundation fundraiser last night. It was exceptional!!! The hotel catered to us! From the servers to the bartenders to the food to the cleanliness to the rooms. Thank you all for treating us like family. We will definitely be back for all our future celebrations ?? This is one 10 star Inn!!!!
Southampton Inn is fabulous! We attended an event last night and had a great time! Highly recommend!
Ok so I have stayed here since 2020. I thought big find. Easy quite. Well tonight not. Big noise not returning. Not sure how the rest of the old folks faring. But not winning tonigh
DO NOT stay here. The positive reviews are misleading we had a very bad experience at this hotel. The staff we encountered, especially at the front desk, were unfriendly, rude, and surprisingly uninformed about basic hotel operations. Upon check-in, we were told our room wouldn’t be ready until 4 PM (the late side for check-in), so we decided to wait by the pool, but were given zero information on anything. No directions to amenities, no details about towels, poolside service, or anything else that would have made the wait more comfortable. We were offered to check our suitcases but when we weren’t comfortable leaving them unattended in the lobby until the front desk staff could put them away we were met with major attitude. Our room was clean but outdated and only accessible via a steep staircase. By pure luck, we met the manager of housekeeping who was a kind and helpful man who offered to carry our suitcases upstairs. Only then did we learn that guests could request help with luggage, something the front desk never mentioned. Despite all of these things the worst part was the NOISE. We did not get one night of restful sleep and we were woken up every morning by either doors slamming 5-10x or lawn work at 8:20 AM, also there was loud chatter and yelling at night. We later found out they have no quiet hours (when we called the front desk she did not even know what quiet hours were and I had to explain them to her). For the price of the stay SAVE YOUR MONEY and book somewhere else that would be more worth it. Overall, the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and dismissive attitude of the staff made this a deeply disappointing stay. We will never be returning... If you like sleep STAY AWAY.
DO NOT STAY HERE... JEWELRY STOLEN from our luggage that was delivered by Southampton Inn to UPS across the street. Luggage sat in the Southampton Inn office overnight (we checked out on a day that UPS was closed and they offered to take the luggage across the street to UPS the following morning so it could be shipped back to us in CA). Our mistake for putting jewelry in the luggage but we trusted them with our belongings and wish we hadn't. NO help from Southampton Inn, no call back--had to follow up a week after first call. Security footage is no longer available according to manager Ed Moan who had zero curiosity, no apology, no questions about the incident and simply said, "our staff didn't do this--I know them all". Security camera footage "no longer available" (convenient) yet we called over a week ago but got no response or call back. He was extremely defensive. You would think they would want to know details and which employee possibly did this to protect other guests from THEFT. The lack of care and communication is telling and can't help but think this may be due to prior incidents of THEFT. Otherwise, why wouldn't they want to know about this and look into it? And if this is the first time something like this happened, wouldn't you feel terrible and show empathy and at least apologize for the situation? Decency would go a long way.
Wonderful two nite weekday stay in June. Comfy updated rooms, quiet location and attention to details. Bigelow pharmacy bath products add a special touch. Lovely lawn area w an inviting pool, and smaller games area. Coming back again. Better than we remembered from our last stay in 2019 and we've heard the son has taken over. Good news.
My Sorority Sisters and I were looking for a location to host our annual retreat and we consider ourselves lucky to find the Southampton Inn. The conference room we reserved was available early so we could set up for the day. I honestly don't have any complaints and I hope my chapter agrees to use this facility again. Everything included in the contract was delivered as promised. If we needed anything additional, (for example we requested condiments for our lunch) it was delivered right away. Jan was always there to assist us prior to the event and the day of. My only regret was not reserving the hotel room starting Friday night instead of Saturday. I could have saved myself an early morning drive. In regards to the location it is very serene and well kept. I just wish there were other restaurants that were walking distance. I believe the closest one is called Shippy's which we are going to try to visit the next time we stay. If you need space to host a meeting, I think the Southampton Inn is a great option and a great way to support local establishments.
