The Bentley Hotel offers a stylish, somewhat unexpectedly luxurious experience with spacious rooms and attentive service, particularly praised for its unique touches like vinyl records. However, recent reviews highlight significant issues including loyalty program discrepancies, unexpected fees, safety concerns, and unacceptable treatment of guests with disabilities, as well as a disturbing bed bug infestation.
Just as described in the Hyatt www. It is a beautifully renovated boutique hotel that offers an elegant country club vibe with a playful energy, in the upscale party of the Hamptons. HOWEVER, WORLD OF HYATT LOYALTY MEMBERS NEEDS TO BE AWARE THAT, this hotel DOES NOT participate in World of Hyatt Loyalty Program despite appearing in their www and advertised as a Hyatt. Therefore, you will not be able to earn POINTS or even see your stays/transactions in your HYATT account. Additionally, you may also be charged a $25.00 Resort fee, on top of your lodging cost & taxes. It is like staying in any other beautiful non Hyatt property.
Great, friendly service. King suite was huge, well-appointed, and had a nice patio with fenced-in grassy area. Great for dogs. But buyer beware, they charged us $50 PER NIGHT FOR PETS on top of our booking.com rate, which increased the price of our stay by $150. Had we known, perhaps we would have stayed elsewhere. But the room was nice.
Staying at the Bentley was a nightmare. I was traveling alone for my 28th birthday and experienced multiple unexplained knocks on my hotel room door, including one at 5:49 a.m. The hotel claimed they saw no one on the security cameras both times. I did not feel safe at all. Because the hotel refused to take my safety seriously, I had to leave immediately, travel back to Manhattan, and pay $650 for another hotel. This completely ruined my birthday trip. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially solo travelers.
It was the warmest hotel I’ve stayed in so far. I booked two rooms for one night during the Thanksgiving holiday. From the moment I checked in, I could feel the staff’s warm and attentive service. They prepared a small bag with water and snacks, and you could even borrow vinyl records to play in your room. The rooms were tidy and spacious, with great attention to detail. There was a large bed as well as a sofa bed, easily accommodating a big family. What impressed me most was that after I checked out the next day, I couldn’t find my spare car key. I called the hotel around noon to ask if housekeeping had seen it, and they even texted me later in the afternoon saying they still hadn’t found anything. By then, I had actually located the key in my car. I truly appreciate the staff’s effort and service. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I have the chance.
We only stayed one night but we had a great stay! Lovely lady at checkin was very accommodating despite a small tech issue with their machine. Rooms are HUGE and the decor is modern, fresh and clean. Bed was comfortable and kids enjoyed the pull out sofa beds. Location is central with easy access to all main local areas.
Look - this is by no means a “5 star” hotel. But it certainly rates higher than what’s currently rated on Google. I’d like to provide some perspective here. I travel for a living. I spend more than 200 nights in hotels a year. Bentley, at first appearance from the exterior, looks like a motel. Outdoor entrance to the rooms, which actually is two rooms down a small hallway. But when you open the door, it hits you that it is a classic hotel. I was caught by surprise when the desk attendant offered a vinyl record for the room, of which each room has its own turn table. And in this room is a tidy, and clean arrangement. The shower could use a different shower head; it’s just weird and not what I personally like and lacks some pressure, but the water temp was good, and the bathroom was clean with clean towels. Yes I note this, as many hotels just don’t care for the little details anymore it seems… so this was a huge win for Bentley in my book. And whoever their director of custodial services is, should get a huge applause and some recognition. Beds were comfortable, rooms are quiet, and it’s overall a really nice stay. Give Bentley a try, I think you’ll enjoy it!
We booked a last minute reservation with Ken who was great. Rooms were clean and updated. We were very disappointed with the rest of our stay as they would not allow us to use the pool because we were checking out that day. I’ve been to many hotels specifically Hyatt Hotels and the pool use is always allowed day of check out. The manager and desk receptionist were very rude and unaccommodating saying we were no longer guests. There was not one soul in the pool area when we wanted to use it so just very confused about this. Will not be returning.
Do not stay here if you are disabled or support the disabled community It is useless to reserve an ADA room and they only have one ADA room with a roll in shower! The other ADA room is a regular stall shower with sliding glass doors and a few bars/shower chair. Roll in shower ADA room was reserved 9 months before stay and confirmed via telephone call to property. Hyatt was also contacted and they guaranteed and "locked" the reservation for roll in shower. Property was contacted three times prior to stay to confirm that roll in shower room was reserved for our three night/four day stay. At check in, roll in shower room was already occupied and we were given an ADA room with a stall shower and sliding doors. Fortunately, we were able to move to the roll in shower room during our stay when the guest left, but what if the other guest stayed longer???? Also, it was a huge inconvenience to be unable to shower until then and to to unpack/repack with a disabled family member to move to another room. It wasted an entire morning waiting to move at noon the next day. Management claimed that ADA room standards do not require a roll in shower and that Hyatt reservation software does not differentiate between ADA rooms vs ADA rooms with roll in showers. According to the manager, the roll in shower is a request and can never be guaranteed. No compensation for our inconvenience except for a bottle of alcohol was offered and declined. I will not be returning to this property since I have no confidence that I will get the room I need, reserved, and confirmed. In my opinion, this is unacceptable for the disabled community and their family/caregivers who support them.
My friends and I spent nearly $1,200 for one night at The Bentley Southampton expecting a nice weekend—what we got was a disgusting bed bug infestation. After we left, all of us noticed our legs were covered in itchy bites. One friend had an exterminator confirm they were bed bug bites. We’ve had to spend even more money cleaning clothes, treating our homes, and dealing with nonstop itching. The hotel has been completely unhelpful, even after we reached out. No apology, no responsibility—just silence. For this price, we expected quality, not to bring a bed bug problem back home. Absolutely unacceptable.
