Guests consistently praise the modern, clean design and spacious facilities, highlighting exceptionally warm service and a great breakfast buffet. However, a recurring issue with noise from the atrium and pool, combined with architectural design flaws regarding windowless rooms and shared balconies, presents significant disruptions for sleep and privacy.
Leadership matters. Melville Marriott is blessed with an outstanding manager, Cora. During check-in, there had been an error on my company’s end making the reservation. Cora cut through the problem and resolved it quickly and skillfully. Thank you.
While the rooms are clean and well maintained, and the breakfast is truly excellent, noise can unfortunately be an issue on weekends. Guests gathering in the atrium area late at night create significant echo throughout the hotel, which can make sleeping difficult. Rooms facing the interior also share a common balcony with the entire floor, resulting in limited privacy. The hotel staff did address the noise concern, although this occurred approximately three hours after quiet hours had begun.
Drunk people on weekends can make it impossible to sleep. Since their voices echo throughout the hotel atrium. You also share a balcony with the entire floor. Privacy is minimal when in a room on the inside. Poorly designed. Hotel resolved the noise after 3 hrs past quiet hours.
I can't say enough nice things about this location! It's very modern up to date and extremely clean! The lobby and pool are beautiful and very spacious. Me and my wife live on long Island and decided to try the hotel for a early Valentine's Day. They were so great even made up the room is such a cute way it made it really special and made our experience just that much better. The staff was very helpful and quick to help whenever they could. We wish we stayed longer and experienced more they had to offer. I always stayed at Hyatts but I think this experience made me a Marriott customer for life now! Thank you!
The hotel is nice, it’s newly renovated. And the amount of plants inside brings good vibes ? I stayed there 2 times each time for 3 days, the break fast in the M lounge was okay, the food in the restaurant is better. The bed is comfortable. Good size pool. The parking lot is a good size as well.
Mariott Melville’s location is good. Rooms are clean. We paid extra for lounge access, only to find that over a 2 day stay, the lounge soda machine was inoperable, and the sparkling water dispenser only dispensed flat water. We ordered room service and instead of food brought on a tray, with plates and cutlery, we were brought a bag with take out boxes and plastic forks in a bag.
Restaurant Breakfast Buffet made our day! If you’re looking for service that brightens your entire day, look no further than Chef Pam. Her cheerful spirit is absolutely contagious, and she brings genuine warmth to every interaction. Watching her craft made-to-order omelets is a treat in itself—each one cooked with care, skill, and a joyful energy that makes the experience unforgettable. Chef Pam doesn’t just prepare delicious food; she epitomizes service with a smile. Her kindness, attentiveness, and passion for what she does shine through in every plate she serves. My omelet was perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and clearly made with love. In a world where great service can be hard to find, Chef Pam stands out in the best possible way. Highly recommended!
Clean. Quick check in. Room was clean and exactly as expected. Indoor pool is nice. Water temperature was much warmer than my stay 6 months ago. Was much more comfortable to be in the pool. Has an onsite bar. Easy to get on and off the highway with plenty of food options near by. Will stay at this location again.
Hotel is nice and clean. But, parking is tough and there are rooms that gave no windows, only a slider facing into the hotel which is extremely loud. The hotel is certainly well run and kept, but the design of the property is really poor.
We just got back from an overnight at this hotel. The hotel is very nice - fresh, modern rooms, a beautiful bar/restaurant and the staff were mostly very nice. However, our stay was somewhat ruined by the fact that our room was on the 1st floor and directly overlooked the pool, which is open until 10pm. The pool had around 15 teenagers in it (until it closed) who were unbelievably loud and rude - I mean 15 boys yelling, screaming and chanting at full throttle, right outside our room. It was actually pretty upsetting for me and my kids, who by 9:30 were desperately trying to sleep. My husband eventually asked reception if they could ask them to be less loud and was told there was nothing they could do. I would possibly consider staying there again but only if I could be 100% guaranteed a room with a window to the outside of the hotel and at the opposite end from the pool. I accept that we were probably unlucky in experiencing this but it would give me pause when thinking of booking again.
