The Residence Inn Long Island Holtsville consistently receives positive feedback, particularly highlighting cleanliness and a convenient location for exploring Long Island. However, guest experiences are mixed, with concerns regarding parking fees, staff interactions, and potential safety issues related to off-leash dogs.
They have renovated and updated things since the last time I had to stay here. Now you have to pay for parking, which is kind-of-good because during my last visit here, I couldn’t find any open spaces around the hotel, had to park over inside the theater parking lot. When it comes to the room when I first checked into my room and noticed wrinkles deep in the duvet cover, then I politely asked for a new one and they made all the proper arrangements and made sure everything was clean to my liking and asked for my approval which I thought was great. I would love to give them five stars but because of that one small issue, I can’t. Let’s say 4.5 out of 5 overall. I almost forgot to mention that they keep a security guard in the lobby throughout the night and you can’t get in after dark unless you scan or tap your door key card. Or a reservation screenshot to show them
Our family had such an amazing time here at this property. This would make it our 3rd or 4th time staying here in the past year and this is the only property we stay at when coming to Long Island. The staff are very helpful and friendly, especially the gentleman named Justin, who always goes over and beyond to make sure we have what we need throughout our stay. As long as that property remains, this will always be our 1st choice.
The room was spacious and clean. It was very nice to have a forest view. The night lobby attendant Ebinitu was phenomenal and very pleasant. The breakfast had great and delicious options every day. Wonderful hotel to stay for work or leisure.
This place is not that great. Service is poor and the rooms are not that clean. They are short staff and you can tell. The manager Justin Sanchez is unprofessional and treated me so rude. I was staying there for an extended stay and canceled my reservation short. He needs to go back to training to learn how to treat customers and guests better than how he treated me. I’m actually trying to pursue legal action against him because of how I was treated
Awful, disgusting hotel that you should absolutely avoid. They have miserably uncomfortable beds (and a tendency to give you whatever bed type they feel like), a parking fee when you're parking across from a movie theater attached to a mall with an empty parking lot, dirty rooms (i.e. dried bodily fluids on furniture), and a giant flag flapping against our window all night. When I went to the front desk to complain they dismissed me because a manager wasn't available in person or by phone... They finally emailed me an updated receipt with $50 credited for the bed type guarantee, but no response about any of the other issues.
Real cozy, standard Residence Inn living spaces. Good central location. Breakfast and great staff made the stay feel like we were very welcomed. Thanks
This is a very clean and nice hotel. There was a welcome package with goodies and extra gift miles, which was a nice touch. The complementary breakfast is a bonus, but parking price is a bit odd given that there are plenty of free lots nearby. There is not much to do nearby, but it is a convenient stay for a visit to central LI.
Room was clean and janitorial service was outstanding! However the suite size and bed height was disappointing. The queen size bed was very low to the floor. Pictorial representation of the room miss leading. Breakfast was more than adequate; good for saving money before leaving for home or next leg of vacation
Don't treat military veterans with any respect. Front desk over speaks you and trys to argue with you. Then trys to defend their behavior with the rules. Also they charge $12 dollars a night for parking.
stayed at this hotel and had a really upsetting experience. I have a service dog, and while my mom was walking him on the hotel property, two pit bulls that were also staying at the hotel ran toward and attacked him. They were off-leash, and their owner wasn’t paying attention at all. Even after the owner finally grabbed his dogs, they were still barking, growling, and pulling on their leashes while standing on their back legs. My father went to speak with the man, but he ran off before anything could be said. When we went to the front desk for help, the staff were no help at all — they didn’t seem to care or take the situation seriously. To make things even worse, there were no cameras in the area where it happened, so there’s no way to identify the man or review what occurred. That’s a serious safety concern, especially when aggressive dogs are being allowed to stay there without proper control.Because of the attack, we had to leave that night to take my service dog to the vet to make sure he was okay. The whole experience was terrifying and completely unacceptable. It’s not a safe place for guests — especially those with service dogs or pets — and the lack of responsibility from management made it even worse. I would not recommend staying here.
