The Chalet Inn and Suites offers a charming, slightly dated experience with a focus on friendly staff and a convenient location. While some recent reviews highlight cleanliness and a welcoming atmosphere, others raise concerns about dated rooms, inconsistent bedding standards, and noise disturbances. Overall, it's a comfortable, value-oriented option for those seeking a traditional Long Island getaway.

If you are looking for an ultra modern, high tech place, this is not it. But if you want the perfect example of Long Island at its best, this is it. We have a standard king room. The room is well done...spacious, comfortable, quiet, nicely decorated, with a refrigerator. The wall behind the bed is real brick, the furniture (bed, dresser, night stands, table and chairs) is a dark wood. The current temperature is 4°(real feel -19°), VERY unusual for LI and we are warm and comfortable. There is a light breakfast available. But the BEST part is the people. The entire staff is wonderful - friendly, helpful, accommodating, knowledgeable. They go out of their way to make sure you are happy and satisfied. Even the other guests are great and friendly. So if you want a comfortable place with fantastic people, this is it.

2nd time staying at the Chalet, and even though I knew the rooms where very dated it is in a great location and the last time it was very clean. This time was very different than the first. This time the room was damp and cold, but it is winter and with such an old place that is to be expected. The mattresses really need to be replaced, most uncomfortable sleep ever! But the real issue for me was the bedding, the bedding was actually dirty. And it wasn't only the one bed, it was BOTH!!! We had a room with 2 queen beds) The first thing I do when I go to a hotel is check the bedding. I work at one so I know exactly where to look for housekeeping shortcuts. This was totally unacceptable! Luckily I am a bit of a clean freak and always bring along my own set of sheets just in case. My husband always laughs at me for it, but not this time! lol I did make the front desk aware, they didn't offer anything because of the inconvenience, which is okay, but hopefully they will address the issue with housekeeping.

I loved this place, the view was amazing, the staff were great, they had snacks for breakfast, tea and coffee were available, the price was reasonable, it will satisfy you if you are not looking for luxury. The rooms were from the 80s, clean and the beds were comfortable. They could just replace the TVs inside because the TV was old and not working, otherwise everything was great.

Old fashioned motel with doors opening to the outdoors. Surprisingly comfortable beds and very clean. Morning coffee with local poet and historian James is worth the price of admission. What a gentleman. His friendliness is infectious. I visited with several guests which doesn’t happen a lot. Coffee was tasty and real half and half. Toast your own croissants and smear some real butter and I’m good to go.

Nice old school motel/hotel. Clean rooms and funky vibe. There were some drunk people making a lot of noise outside of our room at 2 am which freaked me out a little but no fault of the hotel I suppose. No in-room coffee and the front desk doesn’t open until 8:30 so if you’re an early riser like myself, you gotta plan for coffee elsewhere.

My husband and I booked a room last night at 9 p.m. James had specifically assured my husband that if we were unsure about our ability to make it there, there would be no cancellation fee. However, we called again to inform them that we are still on the road and that the trip would exceed 15 hours. We are uncertain whether we can stay tonight, and it would have to be tomorrow upon our arrival. Now, they are claiming that we cannot get our money back because it was not 48 hours in advance. I find this situation quite ridiculous. The Asian/Chinese lady was very rude !!

This facility is in a beautiful location, very scenic. It’s not ultra modern, which I like, and it’s very clean and accommodating! Management staff are friendly and caring!

This motel has everything you need so long as you don't want a pool. They have one outdoors, but this pool has been shut down for a long time. We were there in March and the pool was being "worked on." When we were there in the summer, the pool looked inviting but it was closed. They gave me some ridiculous excuse as to why it was closed. I don't expect they'll ever open it. We went there for the pool and were very disappointed. The rooms are pretty nice, and I was happy to see a fridge in there, but a microwave is not in the room. There is one available a short distance from your room. The bed was comfortable, and the bath area was nicely laid out, with the sink and vanity in a separate area. I would have preferred a bathtub but many motels and hotels are changing over to showers. Regardless, the shower was great. If you need a hairdryer, you have to ask at the desk and they'll give you one for the length of your stay. But don't expect breakfast here because there isn't really a breakfast. If you want coffee, you can get some in the lobby but that's about it.

Central location, near lots of good restaurants. Clean rooms, maintained very well. The whole bathroom is tiled, ceiling, floor, walls. Had a small window for ventilation and a working heater near the floor. Old craftsmanship (highly varnished wood and granite sink area and thresholds) that have been maintained very well. Smelled slightly of moisture when the air conditioner was running, better when we turned AC off and opened the windows. A little dark, could use a light in the closet and a towel hook by the sink. Lovely landscaping and benches along the walkway for relaxing outdoor seating. Loved the pool. Must return pool towels by 7pm. If you don’t, there is an urgent care 5 minutes away. Just kidding. Not really. Grandma’s house, Grandma’s rules. Follow the rules and everything will be fine. Would stay again anytime.
