The Residence Inn Long Island Central Islip offers a generally comfortable stay with spacious rooms and convenient location, but experiences significant inconsistencies regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and service. Recent reviews highlight both positive aspects like helpful staff and unexpected room service, alongside serious concerns about facility issues like flooding and plumbing problems.
The parking lot is full of massive potholes. The tub has questionable caulk. The name on the TV was not ours. Overall the place is clean. The sheets were clean. The staff is kind and helpful which brought up the overall score. The breakfast was good. The basics are covered and well accomplished, just a little shy over a 5 star review. Note* - There were trucks working on the parking lot during our stay.
I am big on cleaning and the cleanliness of the room was a 10. We stayed for 2 short nights and didn't use any of the dishes or utensils so can't comment on that but the room was spotless. My only complaint is that the iron was burnt so when I tried to use it on a white shirt, it got messy but luckily I had some shout wipes otherwise it would have been a disaster. My fault for not packing my steamer. I wasnt impressed with the breakfast. The waffles were sugary, I wish they didn't do that because they end up being sweeter than normal. Overall nice friendly staff! Would definitely stay here again.
I stay here quite frequently for work trips- around 14 days a month- for over a year now. I have encountered quite a few setbacks from plumbing issues, internet and tv not working for days, unauthorized check out(“because my room looked clean and unusued”- i work nights sometimes so i came back 2 days later to this inconvenience), to dirty sheets with stains being reused to make the bed after maid service. Today’s incident took the cake. Upon arriving to my room, I immediately went to use the toilet; opened the toilet cover and there was a piece of feces sitting at the bottom of the toilet. I called front desk for a room change but he said they were at capacity. To their credit, they came immediately to clean the room. I didn’t stick around and had to leave immediately to use the restroom at lobby and then head to work. Though they were prompt to respond, there was no apologies offered by the front desk attendant or maid who came to clean it.
Easy check in and room was spacious. The breakfast was decent but would like more options. Unexpectedly, we did receive daily room service without requesting it. Overall, great location for my trip.
I say 4 stars only because there's always room for improvement. Good place for home away from home environment. The price per night is tricky, trying to find reasonable rates.
We had a great 5 day stay here. Everything went well. The rooms were perfect.
Worse service ever ! I wouldn’t recommend anyone go to this location!!! My room was flooded the night I checked in. I had to throw a whole duffel bag out with wet cloths in it cause the leak in the room soaked our belongings. I reported the leak to the manager and they still kept us in the same room till the next day. The tv stopped working due to the leak. The water was leaking in to the electrical socket. We were so scared it was going to start a fire and they refused to help us. Next morning while checking out I asked to speak with a manager to let them know what happened. They didn’t care though , they apologized and rushed me out the door. After what the hotel did they kept my security deposit and refuses to give me any assistance In how to get it back. I did no damage to that room for them to have kept that deposit. And they know that too cause they won’t let me speak to anyone. I’m going forward with a civil case. We lost all our belongings because of them and they won’t even help us or let us talk to anyone
If you’re looking for a good night’s rest, this may not be the place. If proximity to the highway and local recreational access is what you need, then this meets those needs. The security that oversees the parking lot didn’t seem to understand his job and sat in his vehicle blasting his music with his bass vibrating so damn loud that the windows were shaking. Finally at 3AM I had enough and approached him. He was reluctant to admit he worked for the hotels, but did turn off the music. I informed the front desk who did tell management. While they followed up appropriately, it amazed me that the individual remotely thought it was even permissible to have his music this loud. In a parking lot for hotels! Then the following day, housekeeping never attended to our room, but they were kind enough to leave the deadbolt in the open position leaving our room open and our belongings accessible to any other guests. Unbelievable! Something in the bedroom caused our allergies to flare. Every time we left the hotel, I didn’t need my inhaler. This is why we typically book non-pet friendly hotels. My asthma and allergies flared and I’m still using my nebulizer a week later! This has to be the worst stay ever experienced and we travel often with various brands.
