This Courtyard by Marriott property consistently receives mixed reviews, with significant concerns regarding room cleanliness, outdated amenities, and inconsistent service. Recent issues include bed bug infestations and degraded room conditions, while some guests commend the staff's friendliness and convenient location. Overall, the property’s value proposition is questionable given the combination of problems and expenses.
TLDR: Bed bugs observed and later confirmed by a licensed exterminator. Two required room moves. Third room in unacceptable condition. Significant disruption to sleep and work. During my stay in January 2026, I observed bed bugs in the bed I was sleeping in. The following day, a licensed exterminator confirmed their presence in the original room. As a result, I was required to relocate twice, ultimately occupying three rooms during the stay. All of my belongings had to be treated as contaminated and removed for cleaning or treatment. This left me without usable clothing or work essentials during a trip that was primarily for professional obligations. I missed a work function and had to make unplanned trips to obtain basic necessities. Because there was no clearly communicated protocol provided to me, I attempted to manage contamination precautions myself. Throughout this period, timelines and guidance were uncertain. The third room I occupied presented additional, unrelated issues. Trash from a previous guest remained in the room. The entryway light was failing to the point of being ineffective. The shower and bath could not be used independently without severely affecting water pressure and temperature. On one occasion, housekeeping left behind used linen on top of clean clothing. By this stage, I had experienced multiple consecutive nights of severely disrupted sleep due to stress and hyper-vigilance following confirmation of bed bugs. The cumulative impact was physical exhaustion and impaired ability to work effectively. Certain immediate out-of-pocket expenses were later addressed, which I appreciate. However, that did not change the overall experience of the stay, confirmed bed bugs, multiple room relocations, substandard third-room conditions, lack of clear communication, and prolonged disruption. I also received 15,000 Bonvoy points as a goodwill gesture after escalating at the brand level. While acknowledgment is welcome, the totality of the experience fell well below what I consider a reasonable standard for a Marriott-branded property. Staff encountered during the stay were polite in person. However, when I later sought review of the experience, the tone of communication shifted significantly. Responses were limited, dismissive, and did not meaningfully engage with the full scope of the issues raised. I have had professional reason to stay at this property on multiple occasions over time. In my experience, while the lobby areas reflect Marriott branding standards, the condition of guest rooms has shown significant wear and decline compared to other Marriott locations. I do not recommend that any paying customer chooses this location. This review reflects the experience of the stay itself.
My girlfriend took me to come here for Valentine’s Day to enjoy the whirlpool suite. The first room we got to there was a problem with the drain immediately Melissa from the front got the hotel engineer to come check it out was at the room within five minutes, said it was not able to be fixed. They relocated us to a different room the exact same one and we did have another issue with the water temperature. I contacted Melissa and also spoke with Barbara at the front. They had it fixed within 10 minutes. I cannot thank Melissa enough for going out of her way to Doing everything she could to make sure our stay was fantastic! Sometimes there are things that we just cannot control, and I completely understand that, but they went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied and helped us!
Been staying here for a long time, nearly 2 decades with close family right down the street. The service has always been fantastic with helpful, friendly, staff. The beds are another story. MATTRESS NEED TO BE REPLACED. The last few times we’ve stayed it’s been bad, sore back and the mattress are now so old they are tilted a few degrees with feet up above your head. And the same couches and furniture. Not sure if any room have been refurbished but it’s time to do them all. Again people are great, room are dated and need updating. The bathroom wasn't clean there was hair in the tub, and dust on the floor. The toiletries weren't replenished. There was no shampoo in the shower ,instead there was 2 bottles of body wash. The bottle of conditioner was empty. The shelf in the refrigerator was missing, making it impossible to fit anything in there without turning it sideways. The microwave was from the Jurassic Era, one dial timer to turn it on, and no digital screen. The coffee maker had so much dust inside it that I ran water through it 3 times before making a cup of coffee. The only way to charge your phone or laptop is by plugging it into an electrical outlet. No USB or USB-C ports in the lamps or desk. Dust is an inch thick behind the desk and bed where the electrical outlets are. The wait time for the elevator is ridiculous. No complimentary breakfast. A $15.00 nightly parking fee. Very disappointed
I don't know where to really start.. check in was okay..we had the Whirlpool suite it wasn't bad but def not what I expect ... It's like a Whirlpool bathtub. It's in the bathroom with a shower head as well... Not really what I was expecting because they didn't show any any pictures as well of the whirlpool in the room on the website or on booking. So that was a little deceiving. I also didn't like that. They charge me 318 for the room but then when I check out it's almost $350.. they charge you $15 for parking well. Where else should you park when you stay at a hotel... Even in Atlantic City. If you stay at the hotel they don't make you pay to stay and let alone. Not $15 some places maybe $5 a day . Don't go to the Red lobster over there. It is awful . The room was like mediocre. It looked like there was a leak at one time in the ceiling and it had been dripping down the walls for a while and the paint was off you can tell they repaired this multiple times. For 350.00 for one night ...I expect way better. $15 for parking was ridiculous and the no pictures of the whirlpool in the room should have gave it away I was trying to just have a relaxing night ????. Next time you want a Whirlpool or hot tub room. Just go to 112 or Hollywood or probably even commack motor in ? this is not what you want that is for sure. And any of those places are not charging you $15 to park in their parking lot where you're staying at!!!
I came here with my husband the Saturday - Sunday after Thanksgiving from Manhattan. We were staying at the hotel as we were attending a wedding nearby and this hotel had been chosen as the place to stay for those traveling into the region to attend. I booked the hotel in early October and the block of rooms for the wedding was already sold out. I booked the King Guest Room with sofa bed for $184 total for the stay. As a Marriott lifetime platinum member, I used one of my pending suite night awards at the end time of booking. My suite night redemption was not fulfilled nor was I knowingly upgraded to any superior room. We took the train from Manhattan to the Ronkonkoma station. I found it very disappointing the hotel doesn’t provide a shuttle service from the train station OR to MacArthur airport. As such, we took an Uber from the train station that arrived in under three minutes to the hotel which is less than a five minute drive. The hotel lobby has a lot of seating. There is market to buy drinks, wine/beer, and frozen items next to the check-in area. There was also a cafe area but I wasn’t sure the hours of operation or the items served because I didn’t investigate it further. The check-in process was fairly routine. The mobile key was activated for me through the Bonvoy app. You do not need a key card to activate the elevators to your room. Everyone that we encountered at the hotel had a great attitude and seemed very professional. The room was spacious, dated, and pretty unimpressive. There was a small refrigerator and microwave. The room has usb plugs in several places as well as a smart TV to connect to streaming services as well as traditional cable channels. The room was dusty and the ottoman had a stain. The tub and shower lining needed to be replaced. The hotel has a pool and hot tub but honestly the area was a little gross with lots of standing water in places. The towels seemed like pseudo rags. The gym/workout area was nice and it included a peloton as well as a filtered hot and cold water dispenser. Given the options for hotels in the area, I would probably stay here again if I needed to be in the area overnight but I’d certainly look for other options before choosing to return.
I usually stay at the Homewood Suites nextdoor but decided to give Courtyard a try. The location, like Hilton is excellent. Walking distance to Ronkonkoma station and a short drive from the airport. There’s a Smokey Bones and Red Lobster directly in the parking lot and some decent options in walking distance. I enjoyed having streaming options on my room’s tv. However beyond that I found the room very disappointing. It’s far more dated than Hilton, the bathrooms feel and look old. What’s more concerning, there was hair all over the bathroom including on the shower and the ceiling. Conditioner in the bathroom was empty. I would’ve told the front desk but when I checked out, but I wasn’t asked how my stay was or if there was any feedback. I’d recommend Homewood Suites over this Courtyard.
Extremely disappointed. Not worth the high cost. The room had a ripped sofa and chipped bathtub. Plus the shower was slow to drain. The Bistro was very limited in its food options. Free Breakfast "Is only free if you pay for it" told by staff. Parking your car there incurs a fee.
Hotel itself is nice. Bathrooms are disgusting and need an update. Also $15 a day for parking is ridiculous. Not sure how much longer they can continue to keep these bathrooms in service.
We attended a seminar/event here on Medicare, Medicare Supplemental Plans and Part D Prescription plans, presented by a wonderful company, "Senior Healthcare Solutions". They help you decide what's the best plan for you to go on based on your needs, any health issues and current prescriptions. I highly recommend them and the Courtyard has a huge conference room to accommodate them.
