The Courtyard Islip Courthouse Complex receives mixed reviews, with moments of positive feedback highlighting friendly staff and a convenient location, but significant concerns regarding bedbugs, poor room maintenance, and booking errors consistently emerge. Recent experiences suggest a decline in service and operational efficiency.

I LOVE this hotel! It is beautiful inside and out! The bathrooms are bright and modern. The staff is friendly and believes in true customer service. Breakfast is a separate charge, but I enjoyed the French toast with blueberries. I can't wait to come back when I'm in the area again.

Booked a conference room for family Christmas gathering. This is the 5th year in a row we have booked this room. This year, Courtyard decided to let an employee of Marriott have the room during our scheduled reservation. Sure. Mistakes happen. The offered alternative was a room 1/2 the size. Can't do that. Guess our party of 40 can find another place to gather. Wasted time. Wasted gas. I guess they do reservations the old fashioned way. Too bad.

Came into town unexpectedly and was met by an extremely accommodating staff. The lobby restaurant opened at 5p and the bar/waitstaff was exceptionally good. My food was phenomenal and truly caught me by surprise. 10/10 would stay here again. We adored our experience. Thank you Islip Courtyard Marriot.

**BEDBUGS AND ROACHES** 10/27/25 - I checked into my (1) king bed with sofa bed room without any issues. Upon entering my room I received a phone call so I was a bit distracted and didn’t check all corners of the mattress like I usually do. I sat on the bed for probably 10 minutes before I saw the bedbug crawling by the pillows. I immediately asked for a room change and the front desk girl was very nice and promptly got me a new room. She also gave me quarters to wash the clothes I was wearing. She did say that the manager would be calling me but no one ever contacted me. 10/30/25 - today, I got back into my room after work and as I was eating dinner I saw a cockroach crawling across the room. I gathered all my things, I could no longer stay here and had to contact my company management to rebook a room. This time, the front desk staff seemed extremely uncaring as if this sort of this happened all the time. I would not recommend staying here unless you want to bring home bedbugs and roaches.

Clean rooms and friendly staff I recently stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Central Islip and wanted to share my experience. My room was very clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Everything seemed well-maintained and modern. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and very helpful. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. I used the Wi-Fi and the gym, and found both to be excellent and convenient. The location was perfect for my trip and very convenient for getting around. Overall, I had a great stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others visiting the area.

It’s a 3 star so I guess you can’t expect much. Not a lot of other Marriott choices in this area so one is almost forced to stay here. However, after my last experience, I will not return. I would rather stay farther out. For a confirmed reservation in September, I arrived at the property after traveling for over 8 hours. To my disappointment, I was informed at check-in that the hotel was overbooked. While an alternate option was offered, I should have been notified in advance rather than finding out only upon arrival. What made the situation worse was the lack of sympathy from the staff—no sincere apology or acknowledgment of the stress and inconvenience caused. And the audacity to mention rates at the sister hotel would be same - like my stress in the moment has anything to do with the rate. After hours of travel, being told “no rooms are available” despite a confirmed booking is unacceptable. Marriott is in the business of hospitality and should do better with situations like this.

I called a few weeks ago to book my reservation for 2 nights. 3 days later I called to add another night and was told they updated my reservation. When we got here they said our reservation was for the next day. I told them I called to extend. They did accommodate. We reserved a king room. The bed is not a king bed. It's also uncomfortable and lumpy. The walls are super thin. I was able to hear my neighbors entire conversation word for word. They stayed up all night partying, which meant we got zero sleep. The refrigerator is so tiny you can fit only 2 large drinks. The bathroom is absolutely beautiful. No free breakfast at all. But the employees were very nice and friendly.

Should’ve Checked the Reviews First – Now I Know Why It’s Rated 3 Stars missed this while checking the Internet I checked into the Courtyard Marriott at 11 Courthouse Dr, Central Islip, Long Island NY, and let me say—what a mistake. The hotel looks nice, but beyond the surface, it’s one of the most poorly run properties I’ve ever experienced. Shortly after checking in, the guest in the room next to me started blasting the TV so loudly it was shaking through the walls. I called the front desk to ask for help. The agent, Yancy, said she couldn’t reach the guest, and her solution? That I should pack up and move rooms. I asked why I should be the one inconvenienced. Her response wasn’t an apology—it was an argument. I asked for a manager. She said none was on duty. I asked her to call one. Eventually, a manager named Leah called me back and agreed I shouldn't have to move rooms. She said security would handle it, that they were already in the parking lot. 30 minutes later—nothing changed. I called again. Turns out security wasn’t even on-site and wouldn’t arrive until 11 PM. So now I’ve been lied to by the manager. After multiple calls and zero solutions, I finally agreed to move rooms just so I could get some sleep. Yancy said she’d call me as soon as she found a room. 20 minutes later, no call. I had to walk down to the front desk myself. Here’s what’s worse: After all this, not once did anyone say “I’m sorry” or offer a single word of apology. No ownership. No customer service. Just attitude and avoidance. Every interaction felt like I was the problem—for asking for quiet in my hotel room. Lesson learned: Check the recent Google reviews before booking. Switch the filter to “most recent” or “lowest” and see the real experience. Many other reviews mention the same issue—thin walls, loud rooms, and zero accountability. Do yourself a favor: Book somewhere else.
