Silver Sands Motel offers an exceptional, high-quality resort experience characterized by spacious, elegantly decorated rooms and impeccable service, particularly noted for its warm, thoughtful staff. Guests consistently rave about the serene waterfront setting, delicious on-site dining at Nookie's, and personalized touches like water stations and complimentary amenities.
We booked Silver Sands Motel because we needed a long weekend reset and the fact that it’s just about a two-hour drive from NYC made it feel easy and doable without the stress of real travel. From the second we got there, the service was so thoughtful. Two complimentary chocolates were waiting for us, and when I left my very expensive water bottle behind, they mailed it back to me without making it complicated. The layout is kind of unexpected in a cool way. You walk straight into the lobby bar when you arrive, so it feels social but still relaxed. Our room was genuinely spacious and the waterfront views were spectacular. The restaurant right on the water also has a great atmosphere and Nookie's is great for breakfast, as well. Some small, silly notes (that I'm sharing here more for giggles than anything else): the bathroom door in Room 18 got stuck a couple of times, so I found myself frantically pounding on the door during at least two instances so that my husband could let me out. And the curtains are sheer, so if you’re walking around nakey at night with the lights turned on, just know you may be putting on a little show...! Also, when we opened the TV browser, we were greeted by some leftover enthusiasm in the search history from a previous guest. ? We told the front desk and they were very kind about it and said they’d start clearing that out going forward, which we appreciated. Just a little unexpected cameo in an otherwise very serene weekend. Overall, Silver Sands was exactly what we needed: easy escape, beautiful setting, warm service. We’d absolutely go back.
We had a mini family reunion July of 2025! We celebrated my 70th birthday and it was magical. David was so helpful and kind throughout the planning. We rented the beach house, a bungalow and 5 rooms. Everyone is still talking about how amazing the property was and how kind everyone at Silversands was. We had a family dinner on the beach which was a stunning view and delicious food. The diner was great food and a fun place to meet up. There really aren’t enough words to describe how lovely it was. David worked with me for almost a year and even when I came up with plans for various reservations last minute , he made it happen! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for a memorable family time-Gayle and George
Staying at Silver Sands Motel is a dreamy experience. The Staff is very helpful and always available on site. Amenities are top notch. Think of anything. Just use your in room telephone to ask. Waterfront and Water View Cottages are steps from the beautiful Pipes Cove. And if you are lucky enough to stay in one the Beach Houses. You have a perfect view of the water. On your private decks. Our stay at the Casa De Buddy Beach House. Had a total of 3 private decks. With entrances into the house. Three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It is amazing and very large. Enough for Families and Couples. Our stay was amazing as always. And we are counting down our days until we return. Ed and Wendy
My sister and I stayed here for two nights in a beach bungalow (#7) which was a very spacious, comfortable and well designed studio room, with a screened in porch and outside shower. We slept well and ate very very well at the on-site restaurant (make reservations for dinner). Very good location, lovely beach and facilities. We also had massages (with Sean) which were life changing.
For over 27 years, my husband and I have been fortunate to have celebrated our anniversary in many different beautiful places. Silver Sands Motel now stands at the top of our list. It has a quiet, low-key vibe with all the comforts and service of a high quality resort. Highlights include afternoons swimming in the bay, delicious lunches at Eddie’s on the beach, s’mores at the fire pits and an amazing dinner at Nookie’s. We didn’t feel the need to do a lot of exploring in the North Fork because we were simply happy to hang out on the beautiful property. David and Kiefa were particularly helpful in addressing all of our questions and needs. Many thanks to all the staff members who made it such a memorable stay.
We had an excellent stay at Silver Sands in early September 2025. We stayed in a beach shack and it was spacious and beautifully decorated. Property was super cute and service was top notch! Breakfast at Nookie’s was excellent! Highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting the Greenport area!
My husband and I stayed at Silver Sands for three nights on Labor Day weekend (Thursday to Sunday). We were visiting from NJ for a wedding and wanted a laid back, quiet north fork vibe. Where do I start. This place is such a gem. It is off the beaten path where you can not hear or see anything except the boats and the gentle laps of the water. The little details were perfect. The water stations outside the room and the big cooler of Huge square ice cubes that was always filled (I LOVE my ice water!). The rooms had it all - slippers, bathrobes, safe, a very comfortable bed, beautifully decorated and easy to open windows to enjoy the ocean breezes. The beach was equipped with comfortable chairs that had a shade on top for the sun-so cool and unique I took a picture to buy some ! The beach was nostalgic and there was a path that led to the boat house where you could dine in the sand and get a drink at a beach bar. The diner “Nookies” was so delicious I wish I could go back for the food alone. We had all these plans to explore the north fork and ended up just staying at the Silver Sands - the atmosphere was that good. Highly recommend this place. Too bad I live in Jersey!
Wonderful property- rooms are large and clean and lovely. They have thought of everything- small amenities that make a difference. Cold filtered water provided in the room and around the property. Beach tote bag with towels provided in the room. Extra towels at the beach front. Beach lounge chairs with attached shade. Robes/slippers. Universal chargers beside. The staff is terrific- friendly and easy and knowledgeable. Dave provided dinner recommendations, was attentive- comped us a glass of wine when we had to wait a bit for our room. Absolutely recommend and will definitely return.
The rooms were large and decorated in a fine manor. They were not kitschy or trendy but elegant. Every interaction here was excellent. We played backgammon in the lobby twice and had coffee and then beers to bring to the beach. Only negative is the beach is small. Highly recommend
