The Hampton Inn & Suites Huntington Downtown receives mixed reviews, with notable inconsistencies in service and guest experiences. While some guests praise the friendly and helpful staff, particularly Nathalie Tolentino and Joselyn Torres, and highlight the convenient downtown location and generally good value, others report significant issues including accessibility problems, rude staff behavior, and cleanliness concerns. Recent feedback indicates a decline in service standards.

Our experience started out poorly. We had reserved an accessible room for my sister in law (who was in town for her son's funeral). We were told when we arrived that we couldn't have it because it wasn't available. Instead we got a "hearing accessible" room. It had a light that blinked if someone rang the doorbell. This was of no help at all! We showed the print out of the reservation we had that called showed an Accessible room, but she just shrugged and said there was nothing she could do. We had also requested late check out on our last day, and were told on the phone that it would be no problem. The same woman at the desk told us no, that was not possible, and that we could "hang out" in the breakfast room instead. When we said that we had been told on the phone that it would be fine, she shrugged again and said she didn't see anything in the reservation about that, and again, there was nothing she could do. The rooms were fine, and the breakfast was pretty good. It's nicely located in downtown Huntington, but their customer service was very disappointing when we were there.

Just stayed here the other day for a wedding party in Huntington. One reason we chose to stay here was because upon booking, the representative had agreed to allow us to take our bridal photos in their hotel lounge area. While we were taking said pictures, we were constantly nagged by a rude manager that was giving us dirty looks and scolding us for shifting a few chairs around. She scolded us like children for shutting the tv off for a picture (sorry lady, basketball games dont make a good background for wedding pictures!!!). Please note there were no other people in the lounge with us, we were not bothering anybody and were absolutely planning on putting everything back the way it was. Now to the room- it may as well be no walls between the rooms with how easily it is to hear your neighbors. We could clearly hear normal volume conversations with the rooms directly next to us. Would take a lot of convincing to stay in this hotel again especially at $400 a night for a two bed.

This is my go to hotel. The customer service is topnotch! Nathalie Tolentino, once again helped me with getting the room that best fits my needs for my 11/30/25 stay. She always listens to what I have to say and takes care of my hotel needs. Joselyn Torres is also amazing. She was able to get me into my room earlier than planned due to my arrival time. Joselyn and Nathalie are both very helpful and sincere. Nathalie and Joselyn are amazing hotels representatives for the Hampton Inn & Suites Huntington Downtown. This is a major reason why I love coming to this hotel. Excellent customer service.

AMAZING stay with AMAZING service. My dad and I had a concert to go to at the Paramount Theater, which was literally like a five minute walk away, so we decided to stay here. The cost of the stay was an exceptional bargain considering location, friendliness, cleanliness, and quality. You could feel the care from every smiling face you encountered on every member of the staff. I could sit here and thank every kind employee we met by name, but that would make this review too long, so I'd say just book a visit and meet them for yourself!

I have left review of this hotel 2 months ago and I can't stress how much this hotel goes above and beyond for its customers. I had a situation that I thought I wasn't able to get corrected but Nathalie Tolentino and Jose Luis at the Front Desk were able to fix my problem with ease. They both worked to get this fixed in a short amount of time. They were so nice and understanding of my situation. Their customer service is top notch. They defending need to be recognized for their excellent customer service. You don't find that much nowadays. Thank you again Nathalie and Jose.

Don't stay here! Bad rooms, bad service, bad attitude and ripoff parking rates. Bad hotel room with very weak water pressure in shower. GO to the YMCA down the street for a good shower. Valet parking jumps from $10 to $20 at 5pm every day, What the heck is that ! BTW there is free parking on the street and in the lot across main street. Questioned the manager about an error on my bill and he yelled at me before I could get 2 words out of my mouth. He clearly thinks he is a mind reader. Front desk staff were incompetent.

HORRIBLE experience when traveling here for a wedding at the top of September. We stayed for four nights and had to switch rooms after the first night due to the reservation. We were only in the first room for a few hours to sleep and immediately checked out the next morning around 8am to head to the city. While we were still packing up our belongings, to prepare for checkout, I kept getting a waft of marijuana every time I walked by the tv/desk area. I knew that we did not bring anything of the sort into the room and looked around but couldn’t find where the smell was coming from. We proceeded to check out and on our return from the city they refused to let us check into the new room until we paid a $250 smoking fee. The manager on duty was Natalie, and she was the most unhelpful person ever. She proceeded to say she had evidence and showed us a pack of pre-rolls in an empty trash bag and simply said we should have reported the smell before we checked out if it wasn’t us. 1) It’s not my responsibility to discover something in a room that I know I did not bring into it! 2) The previous guest put it in the trash and departed. While turning over the room, the cleaning staff did not remove the prior guests trash, which caused the lingering smell. 3) This only emphasized the lack of cleanliness and protocols that this property has because EVERY towel was also dirty. Sharing this so if you need to decide on a place to stay… PICK SOMEWHERE ELSE!

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I booked my wedding block here and it was the biggest mistake. Staff was consistently rude to me and my guests. On my wedding day, in the pouring rain, I was told my bridal bus couldn’t pull up to the front entrance because it would “block valet” even if it was just for the few minutes it would take us girls to go from lobby to bus (everyone was ready and standing by door. There would be no delay). I was literally told to walk up the block in a $26,000 gown to get to my bus IN THE RAIN! On top of that, our block rate was under $300, but when I asked for more rooms for my family, I was rudely told no — guests were then forced to pay $550 a night or stay at the chalet up the road. Completely unprofessional, completely unhelpful, and an awful experience from start to finish. I know this hotel is incredibly close to Waters Edge and the Vanderbilt but do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

I booked a room block at this hotel for my wedding and really wish I hadn’t. First they tried to get me to release my room block well before the agreed upon expiration date and showed zero courtesy if any of our guests missed the dealing by a day or two. I had at least 3 emails with important questions go unanswered. I had to drive an hour to the hotel to get answers. Every little task began with a no or they’d just do the bare minimum to help us. I had a few wedding guests cancel their reservations because of how the staff spoke to them when they called with questions. The day of the wedding my now wife needed som assistance, the staff couldn’t be bothered. On our wedding night, we pulled up to the valet, the valet driver just sat there on his phone and wouldn’t come out. I had to find parking on the street. Just terrible experience for me and my wedding guests. Funny thing, i had guests stay at The chalet up the road and they salads was so nice and everyone was happy with the accommodations.
