Recent reviews of the Hampton Inn Islandia reveal a mixed experience, with consistently positive feedback on cleanliness and helpful staff, particularly regarding guest assistance and welcoming service. However, concerns have been raised about room comfort, including loud AC units, thin walls leading to noise issues, and a disappointing breakfast selection. Overall, the property offers a decent stay for the price but needs improvements in select areas.
I'm frustrated with the booking experience. I tried first to book a room on the app and the pet fee was not included. I wanted to be sure I could bring my small dog so I called reservations. English was not the persons first language so we had some issues there. And when I was quoted over $500 for a room for one night I said, no, on the app it is $260. I'm a Hilton Honors member. I was told, yes ma'am this is the best rate I can find you right now. This is the most current prices for what is available. And then I was told this was non-refundable. I'm sure many would call me stupid and now I know I am, but at the time, I felt hustled into this. After the call I went back to the app and sure enough. The rates were just the same as when I looked before. And the discount sites are even less. How is your own reservation system the highest rate? Poor service for loyal members....
We recently stayed at the Hampton Inn Islandia, and while there were several positive aspects to our stay, there were also a few downsides regarding the room comfort and breakfast. ?The Positives: ?Excellent Service: The staff members were incredibly pleasant, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. ?Cleanliness: Our room was very clean, tidy, and well-maintained. ?The Negatives: ?AC Noise: The air conditioning unit in the room was very loud, which made it a bit difficult to relax. ?Poor Soundproofing: The walls/doors are quite thin. We could hear a lot of noise from the hallway right through our room door. ?Disappointing Breakfast: The complimentary breakfast options were very boring and lacking in variety. ?Verdict: A decent place to stay because of the lovely staff and cleanliness, but if you are a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs.
I had a horrible experience at this location. The management and staff here is very poor and unprofessional. Not to mention, I was traveling with a handicap person with a broken ankle. Our room was disgusting to the point that I spent probably all of about seven hours cleaning our bathroom To get it clean and acceptable to use by a handicap person. My fiancé and I do not smoke and a note was slip under our door on two separate occasions that we were gonna be charged $500 fees for smoking violations Not to mention, they charged a card that they said they could not use because we did not have the physical card that they were given. No authorization to use. Needless to say it’s months later and we’re still fighting over $1000 in charges on our credit card and mind you we do not smoke. The general manager is a joke to deal with. But that goes to show you why the staff act in the manner that they do they’re just going by how their management is showing them how to act. I would never stay at this place again it’s dirty rundown. You could hear everything that your neighbor is talking about constant door slamming all odd hours of the night. Also, if you’re getting something delivered there, make sure you’re on top of it and waiting for the delivery person at the door or else somebody will steal it like they did to us. This place is a joke. Do not even bother staying there. There are many other places you can stay in the area that has a staff that’s a lot more professional, and a lot more amenities. It’s crazy that when we needed help with something you can’t count on the staff from the hotel you have to count on the courtesy of another guest to do so. I will keep fighting for my smoking fees to be returned being that my Fiance and I l DO NOT SMOKE!!!! NEVER EVEN BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE I AM WARNING YOU!!!!! DO NOT STAY THERE!!!! IT SHOULD BE CLASSIFIED AS A MOTEL NOT A HOTEL. DEAN THE GENERAL MANAGER SHOULD BE FIRED AS WELL!!!
Check in was incredibly smooth and the front desk agents were very informative. The room itself was incredibly clean and well kept. The complimentary breakfast was also very good and filling. I would absolutely stay here again!
I’ve been here before. It’s always been nice. I went to the commack location in the same week and that location was sooo much better. This location had dog poop around the grounds and that was not appealing at all. And they have dog park area. I was extremely surprised to see how much it has changed in just 6 months. The food, no good. It’s the same folded egg patties and sausage, links or patties. Some of the towels had stains on it.the carpet in my room had a big stain on it. I will not stay here again.
Excellent experience! The rooms were clean and the heat was amazing given the extremely cold weather. Complimentary breakfast was great every day and excellent coffee as well. Hotel staff was kind. I have absolutely no complaints.
Due to a potential nor’easter, we had to cancel our stay. We booked our stay through Expedia, and they advised that they would need to speak w the hotel. Kaitlyn Young denied our refund bc of expedias policies, and she said if I wanted to fight it I would need to call Expedia. After an hour and half on the phone, w Expedia, they stated that Kaitlyn from the hotel denied our refund, which is funny bc Kaitlyn told me that it was Expedia that denied. I offered fo pay a penalty, and even to rebook if the money could get transferred. Kaitlyn Young, assistant general manager, is a terrible person. She put the blame on someone else, and doesn’t care about providing good customer service. We are getting another snowstorm!!! If we risk our lives and get hurt or die, just to keep our reservation…would Kaitlyn care???? No, bc she got paid!!! Terrible customer service.
Stayed here 2 nights on 12/31 & 1/1. Very convenient location right off the LIE & near Jake’s 58 Casino. There’s also several stores nearby including a Walmart & 7-11 in walking distance. The hotel itself was very clean & quiet despite how busy it was for New Years. And despite being on a busy road we couldn’t hear anything from outside which is good. The breakfast buffett in the morning was very good with a bunch of different options. Room had a fridge , microwave, & coffee maker. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in the area or going to the casino nearby. Very high quality at a very fair price.
It's a Hampton Inn. It's pretty good for a lower rate hotel in the area. The front desk staff have been courteous our entire weeks stay, the breakfast is good enough (a couple hot food, waffle maker, toaster for toast and bagels, juice machine, cereal, coffee/tea), and the rooms are clean. The matress is a cheap box spring as you would expect for a budget-ish hotel so don't expect a "great" nights sleep. Also - coming and going from the lot is a little annoying depending on what direction you need to go because of how it's situated. A solid 4 star place.
My wife and I are visiting my parents and other relatives, this is our second time staying at this hotel, Hampton Inn Islandia, we’re very satisfied with the service and customer experience, personnel are all professional and helpful, our room is always clean as the maintenance ladies are always on top doing the cleaning, providing clean towels, taking the trash daily if needed, this hotel exceeds our expectations. Providing every day breakfast is a blessing, good variety of food for all tastes. I would recommend this hotel and I will keep coming here every time I’m here on Long Island. Thank you all Hampton Inn Islandia crew for our wonderful visit.
