The SpringHill Suites Long Island Brookhaven receives mixed reviews, primarily highlighting cleanliness and maintenance concerns, including unpleasant odors, peeling wallpaper, and mold. Guests also reported noise disturbances from connecting rooms and inconsistent heating issues. While the staff is generally friendly, some reviews cite issues with pricing and a lack of investment in property upkeep.
We stayed here as a family and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The room had a very strong unpleasant smell when we arrived, which made the stay uncomfortable from the beginning. It felt like the room either had not been aired out properly or there was some lingering odor in the carpets or ventilation. Breakfast was also below expectations. The selection was very limited — there was no yogurt and no waffles, which are usually standard options at many hotels. The whole breakfast area felt rushed and poorly stocked, and the juices did not taste good. Another issue was that our room had a connecting door to the neighboring room. Around 5:30 AM we were woken up by very loud noises from the other room, including obvious sexual activity, which was extremely uncomfortable especially since we were traveling with our daughter. The sound insulation through the connecting doors is very poor. The only positive part of the morning was one employee in the breakfast area who was clearly making a real effort to keep things organized and help guests despite things running out. Obviously she cannot restock items that the hotel has already run out of, but her effort and attitude were noticeable and appreciated. Overall, this stay did not meet the level of comfort and quality we usually expect.
Had an excellent room but as the night started and it got closer to 11 pm. The room above mine, walked hard across the floor all night long. As it got closer to 1 am, I went to the front desk ro make a complaint. A young man was told to go to their room and let them know they were too loud. Shortly afterwards, they continued to walk louder and harder across the floor. This continued until 8 am the following morning and after I never got any sleep and I had to on my ear buds to block the noise, which didn't help at all. I went to the front desk ro complain again. After being told, how sorry they were and they would speak with their manager. I was given a small bag of snacks and a free water to make up for my lack of sleep. Very disappointing, especially since I had let them know the night before I had already made a 12 1/2 hour trip to NY. Probably wouldn't stay again, because I went there for rest. Sad part about it was that, it wasn't even kids in the room above me,it was adults!!!!!
The staff are as helpful as they can be but the owners don't give them much to work with. Breakfast is not to standard and keeps getting worse every time I am there. Rooms and hallways are very run down, not to standard. Parking lot not properly taken care of as to huge potholes and not shoveling snow in winter very dangerous. The ice machines have one by one disappeared over the last few years. Now you have to go the the main desk to get ice. Last but not least , the pool has not been open for at least 7 years. WTH I have no idea how they are still branded by Marriott. I an a big traveler, and stay at SpringHill Suitas all over the country. This location in Brookhaven on Long Island in NY is by far the worst Marriott experience I have ever had. Unfortunately I have/do business very nearby and don't have much of a choice. Its always a disappointing experience
Excellent, we loved everything. Fast and accurate attention. The spacious and clean rooms. The facilities are good. These last few days for personal reasons I have stayed in several hotels with my family and this was really the best in everything. Well, follow the line of the marriotts..???
TAYLOR WAS VERY DISHONEST AND DISRESPECTFUL. This photo below would tell you a lot about him and how he treat tourists and guests I flew into New York for my anniversary and was heading to the Hampton. Due to the inclement weather conditions we had no choice but to book a hotel in Long Island area. I saw the hotel cost online for $96 which I thought it is an excellent price. I drove over to the hotel with my husband to book and check in. Taylor mentioned seeing it online and booking in person is two different prices and he’s not sure why those companies mess up the system like that, which is fine with us. I asked him for the hotel cost which he initially stated was $149. My husband was about to pay when his colleague walked over and spoke to another customer. This colleague told the man the cost is $169 which left my husband and I confused but okay. Taylor asked for my ID and then tuned to us and say so it would be $169 plus taxes. I asked him what is the reason for the price change, he said that is how the system is it changes everytime you put in the information which is a complete lie, he started shouting at me saying if I cannot afford the hotel why did I choose to come there. The cost was never the issue is his dishonesty and disrespect. Taylor is not suppose to be dealing with people. He ruined my entire mood and night. I am so embarrassed
Our stay at the SpringHill Suites in Bellport was mixed. The room was a good size and the price was reasonable, and the staff we interacted with were friendly. However, the room itself felt very worn and somewhat dirty. The wallpaper was peeling, and under the window it appeared that mold may be starting. The bathroom also could have used a much more thorough cleaning. In addition, the bathroom doors required a lot of effort to open and close and made a significant amount of noise. Heating was another major issue. We stayed during a snowstorm, and there was an awful draft in the room. We kept turning the heat up, but the thermostat would automatically reset to 71, leaving the room uncomfortably cold throughout the night. Breakfast was included, which we appreciated, though it wasn’t great. While it’s nice that it’s free, I would have preferred individual salt and pepper packets instead of shared containers, and the same goes for some of the condiments and milk, as the shared setup didn’t feel very sanitary. One positive was the small market downstairs, which was very convenient. Overall, while the hotel has some positives — including room size, friendly staff, and reasonable pricing — the cleanliness and maintenance issues made the stay less enjoyable.
Standard room with 2 queen beds. Check in was quick and easy. Staff were pleasant. They offer a complimentary hot/ cold breakfast, we were meeting family so we didn't try it but smelled good. Room was very clean and stocked with toiletries, coffee pot, blow dryer, iron board with iron, also a mini fridge. Beds were ok mattresses could be rotated.
Nice stay, reasonable prices. I like the style of the rooms. Breakfast was decent also with both hot and cold items.
Stayed at this location with my wife. There was an exceptional young man who greets you as soon as you walk in. His name is Daniel and his smile makes you feel like you are with family. Really a cool young man. This guy Daniel needs a raise and promotion. Thanks for making my experience a great one.
The staff do their best with the lackluster interest in the evening. The morning staff seemed to be a bit more attentive, but they are also busier attending to the influx and outgoing of guests. Rooms were appointed as you would expect they'd be in a Marriott. Nothing terrible but certainly not worth the exorbitant price. You're paying for the location here and the name, certainly not the quality.
