Recent reviews highlight significant issues with front desk and restaurant staff professionalism and service, alongside some positive feedback regarding cleanliness and the hotel's overall appearance. However, concerns regarding difficulty reaching staff and dining experiences persist. The hotel appears to have some strong positives, especially regarding room quality and convenience for exploring the area.
I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding the service I received during my recent stay Unfortunately, this was the poorest experience I have ever had at a Hilton property. While the maintenance staff, housekeeping team, security, and the chef were all very kind and professional, the service from the front desk and food and beverage staff was unacceptable. Throughout my stay, I encountered several issues: - Professionalism: On multiple occasions, including Sunday morning, front desk staff were seen gossiping and responded to simple questions with eye-rolling and a visible attitude because there were being interrupted. - Check-in Experience: On Saturday, the front desk attendant was openly miserable and complained throughout the process of checking in a large group, making guests feel like a burden. (“Im the only one here so everyone can wait”) - Bar and Restaurant Staff: The service at the kitchen bar was consistently unwelcoming. The bartender appeared visibly upset when busy, and the waitress seemed bothered by guests placing orders. - Pool Area Safety: On Friday night, the pool area was unsupervised and rowdy. There were intoxicated individuals with glass bottles, and unattended children were diving and wrestling, throwing footballs causing discomfort to other guests. When guests went to the front desk to report this, no staff members were available to assist. Unfortunately my family couldn’t enjoy the pool or restaurant this weekend. The reason we booked. At some point if your unhappy with your job it’s time to look for a new one. I understand that the industry is facing staffing challenges, but the level of hostility and unprofessionalism I experienced is a poor reflection on the Hilton brand. I hope you will take this feedback into account to improve the customer service standards at this location.
Amazing Manager Cj always making it an excellent stay! And easy check in process beautiful location! Right by the outlets and easy access ! Great food as beds ! Great time! 10/10!
My husband and I have a group of friends that live locally. We enjoy dining out and relaxing especially on a Friday evening. There are a few hotels/restaurants that we love to go in the Riverhead area and sadly this is not going to make the list. We had to get up and ask where 2 out of the 6 dinners were. Drinks tasted watered down. The dining area is open and a large family came in with children running all over the place, and jumping all over the furniture. Far from a relaxing experience! My chicken sandwhich was very salty and the roll fell apart due to being very dry. One of the couples were running about 5 minutes late and the bartender would not honor the happy hour price for a beer. I do not recommend dining here.
The curtains in the room wouldn’t close. The maintenance guy was unable to fix it. So, we had to use a clothing Pin to keep the curtains closed! The place is clean and it has a nice indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, gym and restaurant!
Clean rooms and everything I need. Most staff is friendly and helpful but one morning lady at the desk not so much. No greeting at all. I loved the scent of the toiletries....perfect for Christmas time! I have to travel east to work each morning so the hotel location is definitely not the most convenient as I have to head west out of the parking lot (no left turn) and go several minutes out of the way to then head east. All in all, a decent place.
Barbara at the bar was so friendly and helpful. Rooms freshly updated, everything was clean and shiny. Good value and location
Good location, but almost impossible to contact staff to ask for a reservation cancellation/adjustment, even when Hilton corporate tried to connect with them. They only reached back out to see if they could sell my unused room to somebody else since I wasn't there. Still charged me the same amount anyway. I won't be booking here again. There's a nice Marriott next door.
We visited here for a wedding party. We were here for two events a dinner and breakfast. Both times the food and service were amazing. Shout out Sal he was friendly and so helpful. The food from Andy was so good. We wish we lived closer. Thank you all for your hard work!
When we booked the Hilton Garden Inn Riverhead for two nights as part of a three-week road trip, we had no idea we'd enjoy it so much. The hotel and rooms are beautiful, appearing like everything was recently renovated. The location was perfect for exploring Eastern Long Island. Kudos to the staff for making our stay so entertaining. We spent both evenings at the property with wonderful cocktails crafted by Kim and Annabell, food prepared by Chef Steve, served by Victoria. A special shoutout to Justin at the front desk whose warmth set the tone from the moment we arrived.
The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is clean and in a good location. Getting is and out is a little tricky but when you learn the short cuts it’s easy to navigate.
