House on Chase Creek offers a charming and tranquil getaway on Shelter Island, consistently praised for its peaceful setting, convenient location, and friendly host, Bill. Guests rave about the comfortable rooms, beautiful views of the creek, and thoughtful amenities, making it an ideal retreat for a relaxing weekend or longer stay.
We visited Bill's place late May this year with our daughter. Like mentioned in previous comments property is located in a heavenly set up, offers great comfort and access and pricewise very reasonable considering all it has to offer. I didn't notice before we got there but property offers many life savers free of charge like beach umbrellas and bikes as well. Bill is there if you need him. Otherwise he is busy keeping the place in shape. And don't ask the man his age otherwise you may be upset to see how life has treated you.
Our stay at House on Chase Creek was truly lovely. The home itself is beautiful, peaceful, and has a charming design. It is perfect for a relaxing getaway. The location on Shelter Island couldn’t have been better. We especially loved how serene the setting was. The calm, natural surroundings made the whole experience feel like a reset. It’s the kind of place where you can fully unwind but still explore the charm of the island with ease. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we would absolutely come back again.
We just got back from a long weekend stay at the House on Chase Creek, and it was such a wonderful time! The location is perfect and walkable to town, while also providing convenient parking. The inn is charming, and feels authentic to Shelter Island with lovely views. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the owner Bill was a great host with helpful recommendations. Highly recommend, and hope to visit again!
My husband I have never been to Shelter Island. We had heard that it is peaceful and like a step back in time. The House on Chase Creek was exactly that. We stepped into a lovely inn that couldn't have been better. Bill, the owner, met us upon arrival and recommended things to do and see His inn is right a cross from a creek with chairs to sit and relax. We enjoyed sitting in the sunroom enjoying tea and coffee which was provided. Our room was wonderful with a great shower and comfortable bed. Location is perfect for walking to places. Overall, this was a fabulous place to stay and look forward to returning.
This weekend we stayed at the House on Chase Creek and had a wonderful experience. The property is in a prime location walking distance from the North Ferry and town. Bill, our host was so friendly and helpful. The room was so clean and had a beautiful water view. We will definitely be back!
What a beautiful experience from start to finish. Driving up to the house had us so excited and knowing we chose the right place. The location is perfect, it'll have you daydreaming about your stay as soon as you see it. Our host, Bill, was flexible on our arrival time and greeted us with a map of the island and a quick little list of where to go and what to see. He then showed us to our room which had a beautiful view of the creek across the way. The room was spacious and comfortable, as was the bathroom. It felt comfortable, private, and safe. I only wish we could've stayed for more nights.
We had a fabulous adventure exploring Shelter Island with bikes and staying at the House on Chase Creek. Bill was the perfect host who gave us suggestions where to have dinners and breakfast for our 3 night stay. He also provided us with a tarp to cover our E-bikes overnight. Our bedroom was just perfect with a lot of window light overlooking the creek and the king mattress was very comfortable. The wicker porch swing overlooking the creek relaxed us very nicely. Easy 5 minutes walk into town for breakfast. What a perfect memorable weekend. Thank you Bill......
My husband stayed at House on Chase Creek for our 40th wedding anniversary. Bill the owner is wonderful, and House on Chase Creek is absolutely MAGICAL. I didn't want to leave. The house is beautiful and very comfortable and elegant and clean. The scenery is extraordinary to sit by the creek - so ethereal and enchanting. Bill gave us many great suggestions to make our trip "Memorable and Heartwarming". I cannot wait to return for another stay,. More than 5 stars. xo Lynnette and Peter Vitale
I recently stayed at House on Chase Creek, and I can't recommend it enough! The highlight of my stay was definitely Bill, the host. He was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure I felt at home. He shared some fantastic tips on local places to visit, which made my trip even more special. Shelter Island itself is an absolute gem... so peaceful and scenic. It's the perfect weekend getaway, whether you're traveling with or without a car, as the island is easily accessible by LIRR. This place was located within walking distance of the North Ferry and a few of the best restaurants on the island. The serene atmosphere, coupled with its charming attractions, makes it an ideal spot to relax and recharge. The house itself is cozy, well-maintained, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. If you're looking for a friendly, peaceful retreat with excellent local advice, House on Chase Creek is definitely the place to be. Bill truly made the experience unforgettable!
This was the perfect spot for my November trip to Shelter Island. It's very centrally located with just a five-minute walk to several different restaurants. Bill provides bikes for those who don't have a car and want to venture further, though if you really want to roam the island, a car is a good idea. The house itself is great; very clean with big, comfortable beds. It's quiet and feels exactly appropriate for the area — really lets you soak up the quiet island vibes. There's coffee, hot water, a fridge, and a microwave to make use of in the common area, which is lovely and has a great view of the water. Bill is a great host and gave me recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The inn is well-cared-for and it's clear that all of the details are thought out. Overall I would highly recommend this place!
