Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel receives mixed reviews, with significant concerns regarding dated rooms, customer service issues, and construction impacting the guest experience. However, positive feedback highlights friendly staff, convenient location, and a generally comfortable atmosphere, particularly related to security and some service interactions.
Very nice facility. I have been many times and have always interacted with the staff. One lady who stands out to me is the front desk manager Elizabeth. She goes above and beyond- truly a gem!!!
Well... if you like less less fancy Casino Hotels this is your place. The staff was friendly and the security at the exist handicapped entry ... my guess its needed. They are building out another area of the hotel ( It's under construction ). The wall Paper is buckling perhaps its the same from the former establishment ( Marriot). The tub was clogged , but maintenance did not delay. They removed a huge wad if hair ( yuck). No bright light to so your make up.... oh I was at the hotel for a Wedding. The wedding venue nearby ( Watermill Caterers was beautiful as was the wedding). Back to the hotel, the food at the bistro was comforting and the alcoholic drink were good. The rooms need major renovations. The shower head take a look at the picture. Enough said ! Jakes 58 Hotel and Casino is a one and done I was fooled by their website .
Customer service is a disaster. I confirmed 3 different times what form of ID was acceptable before I made my reservation since I lost my ID a week ago but had temporary paper work. I drive an hour to get there right before the storm to be told that the people on the phone were wrong. I don’t want to name drop Dennis from security and Courtney from customer service. But do better people just do better. If you don’t know the answer just ask someone who knows.
Went to cash in a lottery ticket and awed with the place. Great security at the door. The people were all professional and courteous. The environment was a bit loud for me. Parking lot was crazy trying to find a spot. Valet Parking is available for the guests. I don't know if there is a fee. Sometimes there is.
The casino is the Twilight Zone on steroids. When you walk through the doors and metal detector, several guards glaring at you immediately guiding you to stand in front of the facial recognition camera, you must submit government ID which is scanned and you are not even given a card after all of that. The doorway entering the casino was so narrow and the games and people were practically like packed sardines. Never witnessed anything like this in my life. Made to a clearing where we took the escalator to upper level. A little more spacious. Stayed up there due to more space. Machines SUCKED. It was an eye-opening experience which I will never revisit. It was a strange place with bad vibes. I can't put my finger on it but I am afraid of that place. Adios forever. BTW, the security were courteous so that was the highlight. The one star is for the security.
I finally made it here. Had a great time. All security was very nice. Far walk tho. Love the OTB. Slots are good but I like poker slots. I also miss good old fashion cards without the AI virtual dealer who really needs a makeover.
Rooms are outdated but spacious. Casino gives a neighborhood vibe. Small. Very diverse. Gambling age 18. No tables Would visit again for a day trip....no overnight stay. Only one restaurant. Food was tasty. Do not order fish tacos. Waitress warned me....but I tried it anyway. Waste of $$$$ Lot of security who were friendly.
Meh. Hotel rooms are blah- not even a mini bar or room service. NO CHILDREN ALLOWED- WHICH IS UTTERLY RIDICULOUS!! Not even Atlantic City has that as a rule, they just need to stay off the casino floor! That needs to change ASAP or I'm no longer going to waste my money at Jake's. The food is disgustingly overpriced- 3 BBQ sliders on those Hawaiian buns for $18! I could still see the bottom bun when I took the top off. Get it together, Jake's! I do like that if you're a Frontline worker and show them your ID at sign up (or even if you didn't know and want to go get it now-) you get a different card and a bunch of discounts and bonuses!
I’m a guest at the hotel and chose Jake’s 58 purely for convenience due to flight cancellations and being stuck at the airport all day. I wasn’t there for the casino, just looking to unwind with a drink. I ordered my first drink politely, said please and thank you, and tipped over 20%. The drink itself was mostly ice and mixer, which made it easy to finish quickly. When I asked for a second drink, the bartender rolled her eyes, gave me clear attitude, and then refused to serve me another. I didn’t argue or cause a scene, I simply said “okay, thank you,” and went back to my room. I was sober, respectful, and just wanted one or two drinks max after a very long, stressful day. The service felt unnecessarily hostile and unwelcoming, especially toward a paying hotel guest who was polite and tipping well. Little interactions like this matter, and unfortunately this experience left a very negative impression. So the that woman working the bar on Sunday night, I hope you hit every red light on your way home after your shift. On the other hand ladies at the front desk amazing!
My friends and I got a hotel here pretty last minute, but didn’t have any issues with the booking & parking. The front desk workers were very nice, security was quick with our ids and photos, too. We had a very kind lady check us in, she had glasses and short blonde hair, and a kind young man with long dark hair helped me out late in the night with finding water. Probably some of the nicest and genuine people we’ve ever encountered at a hotel, and I know working a front desk can be annoying and unfun, so having a good interaction added some good to our day. I think the ONLY complaint I have is that the hot water in the shower wasn’t really working, but I was too lazy to go down and ask them about it, so that’s my own fault, I chose that battle. I didn’t think it was dirty like some people are saying, especially for the price. And the pillows and bed were very comfy. The ac & heater worked fine too, which is convenient because that’s a pretty typical issue at hotels for whatever reason. I wish I remembered the names of the workers. You two know who you are, you the goats. Shoutout to you both.
