We had a wonderful visit here and were blown away by the kindness of all of the staff. We were treated like family from the first call through checkout. Special shoutout to Pat and her magical cookies :)
Celebrated our son’s wedding and stayed at the Palms Fire Island. Highly recommend. Front desk and staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Many of our friends and family also had a pleasurable experience. We will be back for long weekends soon. Thanks.
I recently stayed at The Palms on Sept 6th for a wedding..Staff was very nice and considerate...However our room was very dissapointing..When we got to our room 3-212 I immediatley used the bathroom and it overflowed. The bathroom floor was also all wet. Then the mattress was so old when my wife and i got into bed we felt like we sunk down to the floor..You expect a little more for 600 $ a night !!
Another amazing stay at the Palms! Cannot beat the location. It’s right in the middle of town and a two minute walk from the ferry. Staff couldn’t have been nicer and more attentive. Hotel provides everything you need for the beach, which alone is worth it to travel without towels, chairs, umbrella, etc. They roll out a beach cart and do everything short of walking it to the beach for you. Will be back next year for sure!
This place is a hidden gem!! I’ve been visiting Fire Island for years and I haven’t known about this place. It is AMAZING! The owner is sweet and helpful and provides freshly made hot cookies and champagne from 2-; every day! They have beach chairs, towels, umbrellas and wagons. You will not be disappointed if you stay here!! ? Pat at the front desk is the sweetest!
A Perfect 50th Birthday Celebration at The Palms! We recently stayed at The Palms on Fire Island - Coral Cottage- six girlfriends to celebrate our 50th birthdays, and it could not have been more perfect. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond — genuinely attentive, friendly, and ready to make our stay special. The rooms were incredibly spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained. Every detail felt thoughtful, and the 2 PM toast and cookies quickly became one of our favorite daily traditions. It was such a charming touch that made us feel instantly at home. The amenities made enjoying the beach effortless — everything we needed was right at our fingertips. And with shops and restaurants just steps away, we were able to explore and indulge without ever worrying about transportation. Our stay was relaxing, fun, and full of wonderful memories. The Palms is truly a gem, and we’re already talking about coming back. Highly recommended for anyone looking to celebrate, recharge, and enjoy the best of Fire Island!
We stayed at The Palm Hotel on Fire Island last August and enjoyed every minute. The hotel has a low-key beachy vibe and clean, modern rooms, while its location is unbeatable, just steps from the beach and all the local haunts. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and lying by the pool in the afternoons. Fire Island in the summer is always magic, and The Palm made it that much better. Can’t wait to go back!
Stayed June 6 &7 2025 Wow, high price for sub standard room . The bayside efficiency was very small and stuffy, with zero thoughtful details that one would expect when paying these prices. Although there is a window to see the bay, you can not open it even a little . The other window in the room was so broken that if you did open it, the sash came crashing down. Considered putting something underneath to prop it open, decided against that idea because screen was totally broken. But worse was turning on the air conditioner ( not because we needed to be cooler, it was just so stuffy in there ) it sounded like a freight train in the room. Like hard to really have a conversation with my friend kind of loud. Cycled on and off all night making it difficult to stay asleep. TV with broken bracket mounted on the wall , facing the opposite wall, so you would have to turn your head at least 90 degrees to the left to see from the bed. The bathroom was dark and tiny and when you turn on the light, another roaring fan like an assault comes on making it really unpleasant to stay in there. We brushed our teeth in the dark . One good thing was the water pressure in the shower, very satisfying. But no shelf or anywhere to put shampoos or soap when showering. I’ve never been in a place that has a refrigerator and a microwave , but no way to make coffee/tea in the room. For a beach place, strange that there is nowhere to hang wet things to dry either in the room or outside. Bay beach area was a mess, plastic bags, garbage bags, wet towels strewn around, I took pictures but will spare everyone from posting. The young support staff were delightful, so helpful . It is the beginning of the season and I hope they don’t get worn down. I would advise them not to ask “did you enjoy your stay at The Palms? “ when checking us out.
I booked this hotel very last minute for a getaway with my two boys and it was absolutely spectacular. We had never been to Fire Island before, and the staff at The Palms ensured we had the most wonderful stay. They had warm chocolate chip cookies upon arrival, which made us feel so welcomed. Our room was the perfect location with a playground across the way with beautiful views. To boot, the hotel provides bikes and has a private beach on the bay with toys and kayaks. We will most definitely be back!! Huge thanks to the everyone at the hotel for making our little getaway super special. Photo taken outside our room of a deer just walking down the strip like no big deal!
