Adequate for price. I paid $300 for 1 night in a suite. However, when booking the room, they neglected to say there was an additional charge for dogs. They call themselves pet friendly, but then charge you $150 more because I have a dog. I get having to pay extra, or a deposit if the dog ruins anything, but $150???? For 1 night?? And it is not a deposit. I will not get that money back. It's robbery!! And sneaky that they did not tell me when I called.
I would not suggest staying here if you care about cleanliness or getting a good nights sleep. Upon arrival, was very disappointed with the overall appearance of the hotel. The lobby area doesn’t look like the photos online at all. It’s dark and not super inviting. They did provide a welcome bag, which is a nice touch. Room itself was dingy, dirty and outdated. Curtains were ripped, had to use a claw clip to close them to not allow light in. End tables had dirt and hair hanging from the adhesive on the wire channels. The floor in the bathroom was stained with lipstick which was also all over the sheets. Also the bed itself was sunken in from years of people sleeping on it. Mattress was in desperate need of replacement or the at the very least flipping. First night from 12am-4am people were running around the hallways, slamming doors and smoking weed. Had to put a towel under the door and through the very large gaps around the door to try to stop the smell from entering my room. Most nights during my stay people were out and about all hours of the night. Very little noise insulation it seems. Was hard to sleep most nights. Housekeeping isn’t every day and they really don’t clean much when they do come. Floors were extremely dirty (all laminate type flooring). There was free breakfast every morning, and it wasn’t bad. They ran out of things pretty quickly and once they ran out of something you just didn’t get any more. Like the first day we stayed they had plain and everything bagels. All the plain bagels were eaten so they left just the everything bagels in the case the rest of our weeklong trip. Staff was friendly. They made it a point to give my son a little treat bag while we were waiting for our ride one day. Overall, if you aren’t a sensitive sleeper or don’t care too much about cleanliness it’s an okay stay. But after staying at the Courtyard Marriott that is literally across from it, I can say the stays were completely different and for the maybe $200 difference I would just stay there.
The breakfast was great, staff was lovely. Those are the only good things about this hotel. When walking in, it felt like walking into a school principal's office. The entire first floor smells. Our room, on the 3rd floor, had drawers that didn't close, heater/fan which is very loud when it turns on - wakes you up all night, the furniture feels like super cheap/broken 2nd hand furniture. Very outdated. This is not what I expect from any Marriott property. The water on arrival is lovely, and they staff was kind. The breakfast was plentiful and good. Don't waste your money staying here. It is awful. Attached are 2 pictures of furniture in the room. Broken/scratched - something you expect to see in a college dorm at the end of freshman year.
This hotel is showing its age and is unfortunately not being well cared for: 1. Paint is peeling throughout 2. fixture in our bathroom was not working and had black mold around it. 3. Gym had no towels, no scales On the good news front, water was hot and parking was not an issue (and free) and the sound proofing appears to have been well done. However, cannot recommend it.
One of the dirtiest hotels I have ever stayed at. Almost everyone in the breakfast area the next day was talking about it and was super surprised at just how dirty it was. Assumed our room was overlooked until I heard others complaining. The amount of dirt was not just from short term neglect and was far more serious. Very unfortunate but also made sense why no one at desk asked about anyone's stay.
READ GOOGLE REVIEWS. Our reservation was made through Hotels.com. Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews on Google. I read the reviews on hotels.com. And they are not transparent. Though we were happy with the room itself, freshly painted all the amenities we really needed, the hotel was not. We were not given notice that this hotel accommodated homeless and asylum. We did not pay close to $2000 to be in a hotel that did not feel comfortable or safe. They offer a continental breakfast, which actually was pretty good if there was still food by the time you arrived. We saw people with boxes loading up the food and bringing it back to their rooms. Even at a reasonable hour 9 AM there was nothing really left. The parking lot didn’t feel safe based on what I saw. Also, sometimes the elevator. I love animals, but a shocker with a 200lb dog in your face. The hallways were so dirty and continued to be dirty throughout our seven day stay. During our stay, we called the hotel with our concerns. They made it clear that the law provides a legal safety net for the hotel. That my concerns and photos were “illegal”. It is perfectly fine if Marriott wants to be protected by New York State to house who they house but as a consumer, I have a choice where I want to stay and spend my money. I was not given the honest information to make a proper choice. Read reviews on Google and not the site that you’re reserving.
The entire building smells like chemicals. The mattress in my room had several stains of unknown origin. The television remote did not work properly but the mainenance "engineer" would not replace the batteries like I requested. Desk service was 5 stars, mainenance was 0 stars. The breakfast offered no meats and no low carb options other than hard-boiled eggs or something they suggested was scrambled eggs laying in water.
Poorly furnished and outdated. Lacks a garbage can except under sink. No full length mirror. No magnifying mirror. No safe. Closet rod that you hang clothing from is 4 feet from ground so long clothing and dresses cant be hung here! Unattached toilet seat. Broken shower head that sprays all over the bathroom. NOT the typical Marriott bed. Was not welcomed as a Marriott Gold Elite. Wasn't welcomed at all. EXCEPTIONALLY unfriendly welcome. No mention of complimentary breakfast or happy hour or wifi. Absolutely ZERO ATTENTION TO DETAIL!!!! This was more of a motel 6 not a Marriott at all
I was highly impressed at the location and sound levels of the hotel as close to the airport as it was! It was so quiet, comfy, and it has a full kitchen with dishwasher! The staff was phenomenal, so kind, and did great with the rush of teenagers that were staying due to soccer tournaments! this was an awesome sleep! and hot hot water bathtub!!!!! yes!
